For the Love of Sugar

Whew, well, we made it.  Izzy survived her first camping trip and so did Phil & I!

I think bullets might be best...

The Good

• Izzy was so excited to go camping
• Izzy went right to bed the first night
• We had fun exploring
• Phil took Friday off and we got to the campsite by 2:30pm! 
• After being sick all morning, Izzy bounced back beautifully and we still had a great time
• Because we weren't really drinking, we weren't hung over when we were cleaning Izzy up
• Izzy slept in until 10:34 on Saturday morning!
• We beat the traffic on Friday and Sunday!
• I started the latest Isabel Allende memoir!  Fantastic
• Phil says, "I don't know, just camping!"
• Then in a sarcastic voice says, "Spending time with my girls. Aw."
• Awesome campsite!-Thanks Mary and Dar!!!!

The Bad

• Izzy woke up at 4:17 on Saturday morning vomiting
• I burned my fingers-first on jalepenos, then on the hot pan to wash the dishes-and THAT is why I don't cook or do dishes!
• Izzy was super duper dirty
• River was to high and fast to catch any fish
• Izzy slept in until 6:47 on Sunday
• Mary and Dar's camper was infested with ants.  We got bug spray and hopefully killed all of them.  They'll have to vacuum before they sleep there again.

The Ugly

Def. lightweight, but she was all in to the exercise equipment and Grandma and Papa's. 

Friday night Phil, Izzy and I decided to go to the carnival and balloon glow in the little town of Snohomish.  Well, we were just going to the glow in, but there was a carnival going on and Izzy just had to experience it. 

Izzy rode on the car, the carosel and the motorcycles.  Nice.  Then we got her some cotton candy and she LOVED it.  That was to be expected.

Then the balloons came up and glowed!

We left before the fireworks because it was getting too late.

Our routine is changing bit by bit.  Before, we were responsible for all of Izzy's fun.  Now she plays and if we're lucky we get in there too.  Before, I'd put her in and Phil would take her out and get her jammies on.  Now, she gets herself out and Phil brushes her hair.  It's so sweet to see him trying to be so gentle.
